ABOUT ME:
My name
is Safia. I’m 24 years old and I live in Toronto, Canada. I have been painting
since my elementary school days but never really considered putting my work on
sale until now. I love art and I am really passionate about any sort of art
work. From all the different types of art, I really enjoy painting and calligraphy. In the future, I will be putting up some calligraphy work and one stroke
paintings on sale as well insha’Allah. But you will have to stay tuned for that.
WHY AM I DOING THIS?
First and foremost, I came up with this idea after learning about the Wives of our Prophet Mohammad SWS (Our Mothers). They use to be so passionate about helping others in need and wanted to use their talents and abilities to help others for the sake of Allah SWT. Some of the wives use to create different things from leathers and clay and go out in the market and sell them. Whatever they earned from their work, they use to donate it to the poor people in the community. After learning about their lives and passions, I wanted to do something to imitate them in my own way and help my community as well. Now I am using the talent that Allah SWT has given me for His sake. Therefore, whatever painting is purchased, I will be donating approximately 40% of the profit to charity. May Allah SWT accept my efforts and yours. Ameen.

My second
reason is, I wanted to do something on my own so I thought I can make this into a
small business so Insha’Allah I will be putting in a lot of my time and try to
do a good job managing this insha’Allah.
PAINTINGS:
For my
paintings I use a variety of materials and paints from fabric paints, acrylic
paints to oil paints and even other crafts to create textures and different
quality paint surfaces. Most of the work is done on canvases but I also paint
on papers, wood, as well as plaster. Most works are direct influences of Islamic
art as the title of this blog suggests. I will be making masajids, writings
(dua’s, verses from the Qur’an etc).
Islamic Canvas Painting is an expression of love for the Arabic language and verses of the Quran. These Quranic verses carry a significant message allowing for contemplation and reflection in our everyday lives. In addition, there are other Islamic art work available to order as well.
