As much controversial as this topic is, I wanted to
address is by expressing a peaceful message. The burning of the Qur’an by
ignorant people, regardless of how disgusting, hurtful and purposeless it may
be, we as Muslims should be careful about how we respond to such negative acts.
We shouldn’t return hate with hate & violence with violence. Rather, we
should defend our beautiful religion by implementing its teachings & by
following the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Every time I hear about such
things happening, I feel hurt, disgusted & angry. But when I came across
the ayah from the Qur’an in Surah Al-Hijr: 9, I felt peaceful, & satisfied.
And I reminded myself of what a famous scholar once said “Trying to extinguish
the light of Islam is like trying to blow away the Sun with your breath”
because the truth of Islam is too strong to be defeated. It has been around for
over 1400 years & it has remained the exact same. Through this artwork, I
wanted to share that feeling of satisfaction & highlight this message from
the Qur’an, that it is Allah who revealed the Qur’an, & it is Allah who
will preserve it.
